Al Reem Island is dubbed as the new heart of Abu Dhabi.

Reem Island is a natural island located 600 meters off the coast of Abu Dhabi. It has rapidly risen to prominence as it has recently become home to a plethora of high-end developments. As one of the newest developments in the Emirate, Al Reem became a buzzing destination synonymous with modern, luxurious, and picturesque.

Less than fifteen years ago, the island was a flat area of sand now turned into an upscale neighborhood of residential, commercial, and retail developments. This master-planned community is still a work in progress; however, the area is quickly becoming the best choice for small families and young professionals for its essential apartment-style living.

Al Reem Island is close to Saadiyat and Al Maryah Island which all offer a wide range of facilities such as school complexes, hotels, shopping malls, beaches, and more. With a mere 20 minutes away from Abu Dhabi International Airport, the island offers the best of both worlds – natural landscape views and a bustling capital city life.

The area is also among the first free zones in Abu Dhabi allowing expats and foreign investors to own a property in the Emirate.

Communities

Continuous developments on the island see a huge potential for investments coming from foreign and national buyers.

Some of the master-planned communities on Al Reem are branded hotels and residences by master developer Aldar.

Reem Island is still growing with top projects on the list. More facilities will be added to the existing list of portfolios in the area such as public parks, grocery stores, and restaurants. Yas Island, the entertainment and investment capital in Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi City Center are also not very far.

Al Reem is well-connected to mainland Abu Dhabi and is accessible via Hazza Bin Zayed Street, Al Falah Street, and Zayed The First Street which are the main roads in and out of the island. The E10 is also a short drive away providing access to the Abu Dhabi City Center and Abu Dhabi International Airport. Al Maryah Island and Saadiyat Island are also accessible via the E12.

Attractions

A modern city surrounded by desert landscapes combined with lush mangroves and the turquoise blue waters of the Persian Gulf, Al Reem Island is a lifestyle destination we thought we would never see coming. Al Reem exemplifies a lifestyle where city and nature living can co-exist.

The island is close to central business districts in Abu Dhabi and the cultural district of Saadiyat island with developments that include shopping malls and schools. Unlike other islands in the UAE, Al Reem sits on existing land that features attractive natural shorelines.

Other luxury amenities in the area are the Boutik Mall in Sun and Sky Towers and Galleria Mall in Maryah island. These developments house signature brands, restaurants, and cafes, and soon a leisure hub. Reem Mall is also underway which is set to deliver a snow park, over 400 stores, food courts, and multiplex cinema.

Al Reem is also not short of nature spots such as the Mangrove National Park, south of the island, that offers water sports facilities and is home to many species of birds and marine wildlife. A 22 acre land on the island has been designated for open green spaces which will be named “Reem Central Park”.

Al Reem holds a lot of promises. And so are similar properties in Abu Dhabi. The high-end planned community on the island is still a work in progress and we anticipate experiencing it!
